The device, called the OrCam MyEye, harnesses the power of cutting-edge artificial vision technology to enable visually impaired users to instantly and discreetly read text from any surface and also to recognise faces, bank notes and products.
Visitors to Sight Advice will have one-on-one demonstrations of the device with a fully-trained member of the OrCam team to explore the capabilities of the device.
The device sits on a side of a pair of glasses and uses highly-advanced optical character reading (OCR) to read printed materials. The revolutionary device is the only wearable assistive technology that reads text in real-time without the need of a smartphone or a Wi-Fi connection.
